University of Kentucky football commitments Mike Edwards, a defensive back from Cincinnati Winton Woods High School, and Dorian Baker, a wide receiver from Cleveland Heights High, both have been bumped from three stars to four by Rivals.com.
UK now has 10 four-star commitments among its 24 pledges in the 2014 class, which is ranked No. 9 nationally by Rivals.com. (UK lost a commitment on Tuesday when three-star offensive lineman Derrick Kelly of Florida reopened his recruitment.)
The University of Louisville didn’t have any commitment moved up to four stars in Rivals’ updated rankings, and Cincinnati safety Nilijah Ballew remains the Cardinals’ only four-star Rivals pledge in its 20th-ranked class. ESPN.com, by contrast, rates seven U of L commitments four-stars: Poona Ford, Isaiah Ford, Reggie Bonnafon, Daniel Gresham, DeSean Blair, Kavaris Harkless and Michael Johnson.
Indiana University has no four-star Rivals prospects in its 14-man class.
As for UK, its 10 four-star commitments for 2014 are unprecedented for the school since Rivals began in 2002.
